Dr. Hazeeq Hazwan bin Azman
Dr. Hazeeq Hazwan bin Azman is the coordinator for STEM Unisel and currently a Deputy Dean of Academic Affair for Centre for Foundation and General Studies (CFGS), Universiti Selangor since 2016. He was graduated from Imperial College London for PhD in Chemistry (Microbiology) in 2016. Studying in London for 5 years along with his MRes in Green Chemistry, he developed a strong passion in STEM education and joined a lot of outreach
program in London especially the one conducted by British Science Museum.
Upon returning to Malaysia, supported by his mentor, Prof (E) Dato’ Dr Abdul Latif Ibrahim (known as Malaysian Biotechnology pioneer and awarded with National Academician Award 2012), Dr. Hazeeq and his STEM Unisel team developed Unisel Fun with STEM and Unisel STEM Query modules which integrates the element of Forensic Science, Chemistry,
Microbiology and Tissue culure in the modules.
Throughout the years, Dr. Hazeeq and his team are active in several STEM outreach programmes collaborated with National STEM Association, Ministy of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Ministry of Education (MOE), Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Selangor (JPNS) and Selangor government. Under his coordination, the team has reached a lot of achievements including Golds and Special Awards in Malaysian Technology Expo for 3 years in a row (2018-2020), 3 Golds, 2 Silvers and 3 Bronzes in the Intellectual Research & Innovation Showcase (IRIS) 2019 and presented papars in Classroom Teaching Research for All Students (CTRAS) 2019 in Beijing, China. Apart from NSA, he is a member of Royal Society in Chemistry, UK and Microbiology Society UK.
His interest of research is not limited to STEM education but Green Chemistry especially ionic liquids, biorefinery, biomass and bioremediation. He is looking forward to collaborate with any eager scientist and public and drive the national agenda in STEM education.

Muhammad Aqil Aryan Wong is an Associate Professor in Protein Chemistry, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Malaysia. He was graduated from Universiti Putra Malaysia in Microbial Biotechnology and completed his post-doctoral studies in Kyoto University, Japan, in the field of Structural Biology. His efforts have been targeted on structures and interactome model of extremophilic enzymes, which are superior to the traditional catalysts
because they can perform industrial and environmental processes even under harsh conditions, under which conventional proteins are completely denatured. This may be particularly true for several enzymes where its ability to remain catalytically active under extremes of temperature, salinity, pH and organic solvent is seen as one potential answer to the biotechnological conflict between industrial conditions and the fragility of biological components. Using these enzymes as models, the mechanisms of protein structural stability, adaptation and protein-protein interactions in extreme conditions can be explored and unveiled. He also develops passion into electrophysiology and physical interaction of neurotransmitter release-related proteins/complexes and drug screening for antiobesity treatment.
